Please don't give out chromatic's given name
editchromatic's generally keeps his given name under wraps and probably wouldn't want it on Wikipedia. Please respect this. All of his published works are under the name "chromatic" anyway. --Schwern (talk) 22:13, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Schwern: Chromatic has several books published under other names, including at least one published under his legal name. - Jesse
@Jesse I don't know how much he wants those two associated. I know he's not anal about it, but I'd leave it up to him to fill in his name if he likes. --Schwern (talk) 22:35, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
How can he fill it in himself if one is not supposed to edit one's own article? 66.92.52.243 (talk) 16:01, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Dispute of speedy deletion
editHe's an O'Reilly editor, authored three books, written 30-odd CPAN modules, designer of Perl 6, lead developer on Parrot, was one of the key players in revising the Perl testing culture and spoken at numerous conferences including the O'Reilly Open Source Conference. He's well known in the Perl and software communities. Give the article more than ten minutes to gather some content! --Schwern (talk) 22:28, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- Absolutely. WP:CHANCE, man. —Brent Dax 22:47, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- @Brentdax Why am I not surprised there's an article on this dysfunction? I'm in the "original editor spends all his (limited) time trying to fight the deletion of the article" stage. --Schwern (talk) 22:57, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
chromatic's given name
edit@James-the-Charizard: I understand that the name is being blanked for privacy issues, but usually privacy issues crop in cases of sensitive subjects or media leaks. But what is the logic in blanking out an author's real name and keeping their pseudonym? 103.77.137.214 (talk) 20:44, 4 December 2019 (UTC)
Update where chromatic lives
editI understand from reading this that chromatic wants to keep a lot of information private but from what information I have found he has moved to a different place then what the article states. Should I update it with what I have found? I can provide links if anyone more experienced wants to fact check to make sure it's the right guy. Bawillow (talk) 16:03, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
