Text and/or other creative content from List of Better Call Saul episodes was copied or moved into Chuck McGill on 17 March 2018. The former page's history now serves to provide attribution for that content in the latter page, and it must not be deleted as long as the latter page exists.

Oops, I made a photo swap in the infobox based on talk at File talk:Chuck McGill.png, forgetting that that's not the discussion page for this article. Interested editors can look at the discussion over there and consider whether the swap [1] is a good idea or not. At issue is deleting the "space blanket" photo (used later in the article right now). One argument for deletion is that there should not be two fair-use photos used to illustrate the article. Generally, fictional character articles for TV shows where there are offically provided portraits (as there is for BCS), those are used for identifying the character. The question is whether having Chuck wrapped in the space blanket really helps I think is debatable as this is not too difficult to visualize for anyone that knows what a space blanket is. Not wishing to drag you into the picture discussion, but: One of the arguments for deleting the "space blanket" photo was WP:NFCC#3a ("Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information.") I'm not very familiar with the licensing ins-and-outs. Is there an argument to be made that the BCS photo is not non-free, i.e. licensed so as not to require fair use provisions? signed, Willondon (talk) 16:08, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
No, the BCS portrait is definitely non-free. (Rarely we can get these freely licensed, but that's usually not the case). And yes, we do want to avoid multiple non-free images, and the issue is, we have a good quality image of the character, albeit without the space blanket, and a screencap that is not as good that shows the blanket. We want to show the character, but whether the space blanket aspect is essential is not really there from an NFC rationale for this. --Masem (t) 16:34, 24 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't really care much which image is decided upon, you just can't have two non-free images claiming to be used for visual identification. There is some merit to the argument that the space blanket photo can provide better character context. -- Whpq (talk) 17:08, 25 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
