Chorale melodies

edit

"Also chorale melodies of such hymns appeared in cantata compositions, for instance for Bach most typically in the closing four-part chorale of the cantata." - That sounds to me as if only the melody played a role in these movements, not the text, while I am sure that Bach or his librettist chose certain stanzas for their meaning. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:02, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Annunciation

edit

I just notice that the article says Annunciation is close to Palm Sunday. I'd say there's no relation. Palm Sunday goes with Easter which varies a lot, while Anunciation is fixed, therefore the proximity to Palm Sunday is pure coincidence. I'd not say anything regarding Palm Sunday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:01, 3 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
