Electropop?
editSo it's not an electropop song? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.26.175.94 (talk) 02:15, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
CIRCUS in Mexico's Chart
editMexico's chart is not listed on Circus charts. Circus is number 16 in Mexico, I think someone should add it. <http://www.americatop100.com/mexico/index.htm> 11:54, 26 March 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.181.29.216 (talk)

Single Cover
editI belive a cover for the single circus is avilable, but it not confirmed that this is the offical cover , should i put it up ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 0l3oodrush0 (talk • contribs) 14:28, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- No, not until we can be sure that it is the official cover, we can't take part in spreading rumors, and there have been loads of fake covers going around for the album already. Cheers, AmaltheaTalk 16:04, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- If you were speaking of [1]: If it's up on the official website we can use it. --AmaltheaTalk 17:53, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes i was speaking of that, im not so sure how to do it thou, will you ? soryy obut that —Preceding unsigned comment added by 0l3oodrush0 (talk • contribs) 23:14, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Turns out I was mistaken, it is up on the official site, but was just posted by some fan in the forum, not in the news section, so I chalk it up as a fan-made/fake cover after all. --AmaltheaTalk 23:37, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Music Video
edit- there have been many reports that the music video to this song is being filmed in a cirus with britney with a cruled her and her dancers dressed as clowns and other performers —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.158.168.31 (talk) 15:59, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
- Well whether her dancers are clown or not, we don't know, but Britney is definitely sporting a short curled hair look in the video. I saw it in the europe Music Award video where she said that she is shooting for the "Circus" video. 08:08, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
In the video, there is a close up shot framing just Briteny's face and she does a 'mock' gesture of rubbing her nose while moving her head from side to side. Is this a throwback to one of her earlier videos? If so, this should be documented. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.200.48.253 (talk) 20:43, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- It would be original research, unless reliable third party sources mention it. — R2 20:59, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
Radio Play
editon the station Z100 circus has been getting heavy ration before it's release date it premiered there a few days ago, i put that on the article and some deleted it saying that i need sources hows that possible if it's being played in a radio station —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whiteipod2000 (talk • contribs) 00:54, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- Because everything needs a source on Wikipedia. If you cannot provide or find a source for it that clearly means it's not being reported and lacks notability. — Realist2 00:58, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
and another http://z100.elvisduran.com/cc-common/news/sections/special/britneyspears2.html?preview=circus
- Those sources wouldn't be allowed because they are do not meet the policy of reliable sources and the sources themselves lack notability. — Realist2 01:04, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
ok all i can say is the song is already released in air-play and would be phiscally released on Tuesday —Preceding unsigned comment added by Whiteipod2000 (talk • contribs) 01:09, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- Not using those sources you couldn't, you would have to use better ones. BBC, Rolling Stone etc. — Realist2 01:11, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Image deletion
editWhy exactly is it up for deletion - I'm not sure I understand? Xamkou (talk) 21:32, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- Because the image does not add significantly to readers' understanding of the article and its omission would not be detrimental to that understanding. Basically, there is no need for it. The image isn't needed to help understand the video, words can do sufficiently. — Realist2 21:36, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
I would personally say it makes the article more aesthetically pleasing and, even though it's not the aim, it makes the read more visitor friendly if you get me. Ah well, thanks R2! Xamkou (talk) 21:40, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- I like images too, but since we do not own the copyright to the image (the people who made the music video own the image) we should only use them when we really need to. Us using the image means someone else is losing profit. Why should some else lose money just so our article can look colorful? When the official music video is released there might be a picture that really is needed for educational purposes. Maybe something that's hard to explain in words etc. Let's wait and see. — Realist2 21:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your help, it's shame that there isn't a reputation system on Wikipedia else I'd give you some! Xamkou (talk) 22:32, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
- No problem, have a good day. — Realist2 22:35, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
Circus isn't #1
editIt's 76. Fix that! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.253.238.149 (talk) 10:34, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Please
editcan someone re-do this article its is all over the place and the music video section needs a couyple of pictures,, Thanks :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.194.164.108 (talk) 22:49, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
- Once the hype has gone away and the article is stable I'll overhaul it. — Realist2 22:55, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks :)
PETA
editThis is not important but.. Peta is called a charity in the section about animal rights. I think it should say organization. Charity has too nice a ring for PETA, a company who has done a lot extreme things. Besides I think organizations sounds better. Don't say it shouldn't be done because it's too unnecessary, it is literally a five second switch. If I had an account that was allowed to edit locked articles, I'd do it myself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.32.238.211 (talk) 00:06, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Per the actual Wikipedia article on Peta, they are called an organization. So I will change it accordingly. Cheers. — Realist2 00:10, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Didn't this article used to have some information about the trainers' response to PETA's criticism? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.119.40.39 (talk) 20:24, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Australian Release Details
editI have added the Australian Release Date and the tracklisting for the single. The reference is the actual SonyBMG B2B so I can't supply a reference since it does need a log-in.
I will leave it for the time being since it is official according to the SonyBMG B2B but if a reference is despertly needed I can screencap it. TheRevolution7 (talk) 04:31, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Circus has hit number one in America
editCircus has hit number one in America [2]. However, I wouldn't know what to write in the 'Chart performance' section since I'm from the UK and I don't know the dates or anything. Please could someone add it there for me? Xamkou (talk) 21:56, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
False reviews/marketing
editJust like the "Womanizer" article, some users are adding false reviews and random quotes with references which either do not contain any part of the said review, or use quotes from users commenting on articles. This does not make up a professional review. I've just had to remove a few and would appreciate if people kept on eye on these. Feudonym (talk) 03:03, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
PLEASE
editclean this page up, its nothing like thw womanizer page ^o) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.194.164.108 (talk) 21:51, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Following single of Circus
editI have just edited the article for Circus (song) and stated that it is official that If U Seek Amy is the official following single, I was the first user to edit Circus (song) and "Circus (Britney Spears album)" and it was erased, also other users have edited again but it keeps getting erased. Here's the link anyways [1] [2] --BittersweetJoJo (talk) 23:02, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
- They do not meet our requirements for reliable sources, One is a blog, the other was written by "lead bitch". Please do not reinsert the text until reliable sources have reported on it. — Realist2 23:06, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Genre
editI have an issue about the genrebox. Realist 2 says that only genres are to be put in the infobox when almost very genre box has subgenres. The genre is Electropop and R&B yet he changes it to Pop, dance, and R&B. If subgenres arenot to be used then when can they be used never? Then what are subgenres for? Should the genre be left as Electropop, R&B or Pop, dance, and R&B? your pick.--Electroide (talk) 00:21, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- No, there is no "taking your pick". Only genres are allowed in the infobox. — Realist2 00:29, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Circus is # 10
editrecently, if anyone goes to billboard.com, Circus has risen on the pop 100 from 12 to 10 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Womanizer.81 (talk • contribs) 03:56, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
CIRCUS (single) in the TOP 40
editAs of the week Feb 16-Feb 22, Circus has peaked at number 1 on the top 40 of the most played songs in the USA and Canada according to mediabase, I think that this is worth mentioning on the main article of the song. Source: Mediabase [3] --Nezfr (talk) 00:24, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Circus has topped the 2 million paid digital download mark, as well as womanizer
editSong Scorecard: Britney Spears' "Circus" tops the 2 million mark in paid downloads this week. The song took 18 weeks to reach that mark, compared to just 14 weeks for Spears' previous smash, "Womanizer." Two older songs also topped the 2 million mark: Fergie's first solo release "London Bridge," from 2006, and "Sexy Can I," the 2008 hit by Ray J featuring Yung Berg.
why has this not been listed?! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.226.35.213 (talk) 19:15, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- Do you have a web link please? — R2 19:17, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Music and structure
editWho wrote that stupid section? I'm not against the idea to show this kind of information, but they're false here... Circus is written in F# minor, not in F minor. Britney's range actually goes from E3 (there's only two types of people in THE WORLD, or ...and the one's that obSERVE, or ...put-on-a-show type OF GIRL) to C#5 (better be ready, hope THAT you feel the same). Any piano is a source! Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.14.190.226 (talk) 16:42, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
