First Monastery
editPlease, everyone - the first Chan Monastery in the United States is actually Gold Mountain Monastery in San Francisco - also founded by the Master Hsuan Hua and under the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association. The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas is the biggest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Western Hemisphere. Kungming2 05:42, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
"Cult"
editRecent additions to this page have tried to describe it as a "cult", and to paint its practices in dark ways.
All information should be reliably sourced, and that becomes particularly important when it comes to negative claims against a person or body of persons. I am undoing the recent additions (again), and the material should not be readded until it is sourced. Particularly with the "cult" descriptor, we would need a very unbiased and topically-respected source to put that into Wikipedia's voice, although we can state that thus-and-such-a-group designate it a "cult" with a bit less rigor. --Nat Gertler (talk) 01:45, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
