This may be an ignorant question, but the article doesn't even hint at it. There are several soups with clams that still have their shells, or at least where the shells are included (and the flesh perhaps removed and put back? I believe that happens with snails?)
Do the shells impart flavor perhaps, or is it just for show? I assume they're discarded while eating, though stranger things are eaten...--194.112.128.196 (talk) 11:37, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
