Shopping centre operation
editSomeone had, without discussion, deleted an accurate and cited account of the various changes in Clarks Village and replaced it with a somewhat self-promoting twist on what has occurred; the whole thing read like an advert. We have posted the 'advertisement' preface and have amalgamated the new and old cited information in the hope that it meets all needs
There is a contradiction remaining where Clarks Village claim to have the 'world's largest' shoe topiary - but there is a cited example of a larger shoe topiary in existence at that time and a simple google search reveals much larger show topiaries - if anyone really cares about the size of a shoe shaped hedge perhaps they should remove it
Purpose built
editThe history and operation of Clarks Village is a current school project for year 10; I think there might be quite a few revisions here over the next term, sorry.
The article describes the centre as 'purpose built' yet describes itself (and it is) a redevelopment of existing shoe factory buildings - in my humble opinion that doesn't make it 'purpose built' - this, coupled with its challenged claim to be the 'first', makes me wonder if the whole paragraph needs to simply read "It opened in 1993"

- I have removed the contentious claim about "1st purpose built". If anyone has a definitive statement, supported by reliable sources please put it back.— Rod talk 19:12, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
