Shuttleworth DAB page
editSome time back, before this article existed, I added the following to the Shuttleworth page:
- Joseph Shuttleworth (1819-1883), partner with Nathaniel Clayton in Clayton & Shuttleworth, builders of portable engines and agricultural machinery in Lincolnshire, England
This has recently been removed, probably because of the red link?
Just thought I'd mention it here for when someone creates a page for Joseph Shuttleworth.
Link to Shuttleworth collection
editA relative of the Founder of the company Richard Shuttleworth founded the Shuttleworth Collection of aircraft and machinery at Old Warden in Bedfordshire. Old Warden park hosts the annual Bedfordshire Steam Rally. This could be worked in but not sure were. - BulldozerD11 (talk) 22:02, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- Not sure the connection is really notable to the company. MilborneOne (talk) 22:25, 4 March 2010 (UTC)
- Have to agree there, what would be the significance to the link? Related in what way?--BSTemple (talk) 00:00, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- if you consider it insignificant that a flyer who founded a significant collection of early aviation artifacts whose own family built aircraft of the period is not relevant then dont put it in then. Just thought id mention it when the article had popped up on my watch list. - BulldozerD11 (talk) 01:17, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't see why we can't include it as a 'See also'. There are plenty of pages with much more tenuous links. Here we have a direct family connection, at least, so it is of interest that the (company) name persisted in this way. If the family didn't have the history of building aircraft, would it have established an aircraft museum? (OK, I know you can't answer that one!) -- EdJogg (talk) 10:51, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- Dont have a problem with a see also link but do we have a reliable source on the relationship between the two? MilborneOne (talk) 16:50, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- The see also is okay, and if you could show a clear link, with at least one good reference, it could have been put in the text. But what relation was he? Brother, cousin, son, uncle? Just saying a relative of the Founder, is not clear.--BSTemple (talk) 18:31, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
