editAutochthony writes: I believe - on the authoriy of a Hotel-keeper - that Cleeve Cloud is the nearest hill to London, over 1000 feet above sea level. If right, might that merit inclusion? Or not? Autochthony wrote 1730 Z 22 january 2012. 86.144.117.77 (talk) 17:31, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
Autochthony adds: - Broadway Tower, also in the Cotswolds, apparently stands on land over a thousand feet above sea level, and appears to be closer to London (Charing Cross Station, as a proxy for the centre of London); my hotel-keeper may have been wrong. Does anyone kactually now?? Autochthony wrote. 22 January 2012 1930 Z. 86.144.117.77 (talk) 19:29, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
Nick-Aitch says:- Leith Hill, SW of London in Surrey, is 297 metres (974 ft) high according to my knowledge and Wikipedia but Richard Hull of nearby Leith Hill Place built "Prospect House" in the years 1765 to 1766, later to become known as Leith Hill Tower, with the intention of raising the hill above 1,000 ft (305 m) above sea level. The tower is 19.5 metres (64 ft) high. Many would thus claim that Leith Hill is over 1000ft due to the addition of the folly! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.102.5.104 (talk) 10:14, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
