Missing things

edit

I sorted the page out quite a bit, but I don't know the exact details of what clerics got in 2nd ed. - AndyBQ 20:05, 17 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oddly, there was no mention made of Wisdom anywhere in the entire article. Fixed now. I added some general comments on useful ability scores. perhaps there should be some more detail on Evil Clerics and their varying propensities?

Added a basic multiclassing and party role section.

Party Role - NPOV

edit

This section is hampered by what appear to be opinions and opinionated language (such as "occupationally useful stat of charisma" and "can easily become the most powerful fighter in the group"), however, this sentence is the biggest offender:

Sadly, because many players find themselves spending more time helping others rather than acting themselves, they receive a bad rap as being the least favorable class to play - rather than arguably the best.

In addition, informal and seemingly anecdotal statements undermine the article's believability. Clerics can be the most powerful member? Prove it. Maybe a reputable source has an article about "Clericzilla". Clerics get stick because they're often considered to just be "healbots"? Prove that, too. There is almost certainly valid sources for a comment like that. Clerics add political and religious weight? I'm afraid you'll need to prove that one, too. --Muna (talk) 21:47, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Possible source for origin of cleric/priest

edit

I was reading The Piazza forum and someone quoted someone who was talking about the creating of the priest class.

This class was apparently created during Dave Arneson's campaign to allow a player to counter another player called Sir Fang (who was playing a vampire).

For more information see Origin of the Cleric Class at The Piazza. Big Mac (talk) 02:08, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good, if we can get a source, or even figure out who was actually saying that. 24.148.0.83 (talk) 03:11, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Knights Templars?

edit

Does the 2nd edition PHB say "Knights Templars", "Knights Templar" or "Templars"? If it really says "Knights Templars", we should probably use quotation marks and a {{sic}} tag to make it clear that it's not a typo. -- Gordon Ecker (talk) 05:37, 11 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
