not from a neutral point of view

edit

This entry is not from a neutal point of view, with an easy explanation: it is taken directly from his bio page on the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies website. It is, in essense, a puff piece written for the purpose of promoting him. That is fine for the Foundation's website, but not for an encyclopedia.

Criticism was added, and then was reverted in typical wikipedia censorship. 129.120.176.206 (talk) 00:30, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reviewer: Wizardman 05:20, 20 November 2009 (UTC) Overall the article is pretty good, but I do have some issues:Reply

  • Any info on his life pre-graduating from college?
  • You use "he then ____" very frequently; mix up wordings, such as using "after his stay at ___, he ___" or something like that.
  • Are there years listed when he got his masters? Reads like he got both in two, which is impressive if true.
  • WP:PERSONDATA should be added.
  • What makes NNDB a reliable source?

There's not much to fix, though unfortunately I'll have to fail the article due to the retirement of the article writer. If this is all fixed up it can always be renominated at GAN. Wizardman 05:20, 20 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Strange edit

edit

I don't understand the point of this edit: [1]. The person who made the edit deleted all wikilinks and citations. I have reverted it since it didn't make much sense and seemed to disguise some non-neutral edits as "updates". If there is an argument to be made to restore some of these edits, please make them.--Franz Brod (talk) 15:48, 23 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

The point of the edit was to revert the article back to some original stock format, which hews extremely closely to Clifford May's bio on the Foundation for Defense of Democracies website: [2]. My guess is that someone at FDD has written a wiki version of May's bio, and came back to this page to revert the article back to that version. They simply clicked "Edit" and then pasted their version in. They didn't actually go through the article and remove all the wiki links, tags and references. This is the most plausible way I can explain what happened. -Thucydides411 (talk) 17:47, 2 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
