Lead

edit
  • "Its twisted columns were designed with new structural engineering principles." - Maybe explain briefly what these new structural engineering principles were
  • The briefest I could come up with would be "...new structural engineering principles whereby torsion is used to support deliberately twisted bases." But I think that opens more questions than just leaving it for the reader to read in the article. Can add if you think it's suitable. Kingsif (talk) 22:36, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Background

edit
  • Modernism doesn't need to start with a capital letter
  • ""Synthesis of the Arts"; combining the arts and architecture and creating artistic pieces" - the semi-colon should be replaced by a comma
  • "that could also serve functional purposes." - serve as

Design and symbolism

edit
  • "it is said to further emphasize the purpose of clocks " - said by whom?
  • "they are typically on the facade of another important building" - an
  • "the sound system was damaged in 2002 but is also still used." - also continues to be used. for variety

Structure

edit
  • "Otaola has said of the process that when presented with Villanueva's designs" - the text in bold isn't needed
  • "Villanueva's designs he did not change anything fundamental about the piece," - tower
  • "when contributing to the build of General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge, spanning Lake Maracaibo." - build of the
  • "The techniques (based on Otaola's plans) were revolutionary at the time." - according to whom?
  • Done the first and last; it's more an artistic piece than just a tower, and adding 'the' would be appropriate if 'Bridge' was 'bridge', but it's not (General Rafael Urdaneta Bridge is a proper noun, if it were 'General Rafael Urdaneta bridge', it would be 'the X bridge'. Image it with Buckingham Palace - "build of Buckingham Palace", not "build of the Buckingham palace") Kingsif (talk) 22:47, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Legacy

edit
  • "The clock tower is said to be" - said by whom?
  • "an obligatory reference point within the facilities of the Central University of Venezuela and one of the best known points of the city of Caracas", as well." - the text in bold is unneeded
  • The second sentence should be merged into the first to eliminate stubby one-line paragraphs

References

edit
  • The formatting of the dates must be consistent in all the references
  • Reference 7's title and work should not be all in capital letters per MOS:ALLCAPS

Will put the review on hold to allow the nominator to address/query the points raised above. MWright96 (talk) 19:11, 21 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
