Updates Required
editHello, current CH dev here, just wanted to drop my thoughts on the Wikipedia page. I am not a regular when it comes to editing wikipedia pages so I hope someone can take these thoughts and roll with it to update this page.
1) We have our living document https://wiki.clonehero.net/ which is a trusted source for information. The only users with authorization to edit this page are members of the clone hero team. If citations are needed, this is an official source of information.
2) "Publishers" being "Srylain Inc." is no longer the organization name we prefer anymore. We keep this for legacy reasons since Unity serializes data in the app-data folder based on the company name specified. This is for backwards compatibility, however the official title we prefer now is "Clone Hero Team" for both Developer and Publisher.
3) Listed as Designers is currently just Ryan Foster (Srylain). Here's our updated list, taken directly from the game credits:
Founder: Srylain
Project Lead: Matt (mdsitton)
Programmers: Srylain, Matt (mdsitton), Oscar Sáenz, ExileLord, David (ARPP3), noahbkim, E2, Boo, Ahriana
Art Team: Inventor, Filyng, CaptainToasty, russianbear28, BlueChaoz, Drihscol
4) For platforms, we're missing Android. This is our second most popular platform, right behind 64 bit windows. If anyone is curious, for V1.0.0.4080 of Clone Hero, the most popular releases are win64, android, macOS, linux, win23.
5) This is mostly semantics. But the first paragraph of 'Gameplay' states that we use GUI assets. We only use in-game assets from Guitar Hero games. The GUI is in fact, completely original. Guitar Hero notes are rendered as 'billboarded sprites', and we layer the notes to build them up, as well as the highway. So this would be a more appropriate way of describing it.
6) Maybe worth mentioning our GDQ 2023 appearance as well.
I've recently ported each game version to GitHub as releases, so maybe it would be interesting to create a table with details about each release, platforms supported, release date. https://github.com/clonehero-game/releases/releases
I might try and do some edits myself, but as I mentioned before, I've not edited Wikipedia pages personally yet. If there are any administrators to the page who see this message and want to collaborate, please reach out on Discord! You can find me in the CH server under the username ARPP3
