Who are "New Horizon Interactive"
The people behind this project are really shy about what kind of legal entity they are and who the people behing it are. As for the claim it is run mostly by parents - who are they and where are they?
A very sceptical parent. 80.4.39.7 09:44, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- The Contact 'tab' on NHI's web page gives an address, telephone number and email address for such questions. --Adavidb 05:15, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- Incorrect. There is nothing to prove this is not some sort of scam on kids and parents. It gives a name which can be made up. No details appear of any official corporate registration in any country or sovereign state to look up the officers of the corporation (if that is what it is). No human being traceable or otherwise is identified. The address could be a correspondence address. There is no proof anyone traceable can be found there. The Club Penguin shop sells real rubbish - but as it is mail order, that is a handy way to get kids names and addresses.
- The Better Business Bureau and NetSmartz (a partnership of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Boys and Girls Clubs of America) have certified Club Penguin as safe for kids. Regarding the business itself, the BBB in Vancouver has more info. --Adavidb 15:22, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- "have certified Club Penguin as safe", really? How reassuring, except 1) who says so 2) where do they say so 3) who are those organisations 4) of what value is their "certification" 5) if the "Better Business Bureau" feels able to publish what it is told (who by?) names it claims are people associated with Club Penguin, how come none of the information is on the Club Penguin site? And there is no legal obligation for anyone to provide accurate and reliable information to the "Better Business Bureau". Is the information accurate and reliable? So have you got any real information that "Club Penguin" is "safe". Let me know when you have. If it really is safe then get the hard information and put it up here so people can really check it out. And if it is safe great, but don't expect me to take the word of some anonymous person who edits on Wikipedia. After all, look how reliable information is on Wikipedia - take a look at the "Rust" talk page, here [[1]] and here [[2]]:- —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.4.39.7 (talk • contribs) 21:22, February 24, 2007 (UTC)
- If you find a mistake in any article, be bold and fix it. If you find Club Penguin ownership information that has been published by a reliable, third-party source, then put it in the article and cite it. Otherwise, we don't have it. The volunteers here do not work for Horizon Interactive. We are here to write an encyclopedia, not do background checks for you or try to convince you to let your kids use this product. -- Satori Son 21:02, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Club Penguin Company Info page, here. UnknownRG 21:32, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- I personally do not find New Horizon Interactive, or Club Penguin for that matter, shady, either crimanally or otherwise, and my parents trust the Club Penguin company enough to allow me to be a member. The people who answer your questions are very honest and polite, and to tell the truth, around 3 MILLION users can not be wrong! After all, woudn't New Horizon Interactive be shut down by the Canadian government if it was a predator site? I personally think that Club Penguin is the most honest chat room I've ever used. Furthermore, Club Penguin is moderated, did you forget that?
TurtleShroom! :) 14:13, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- I have to agree with TurtleShroom, I am a person who is very strict on how safe a game is, and I can clearly see that Club Penguin is one of the most safest games for children there is, as well as the fact that it has won the BBB Kids Privacy award which only very few companies maneged to get and the value of that certificate and the criteria a company needs to get it is very high...--Kushan I.A.K.J (talk) 08:58, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
New Link
There is a new link about being a member on Yahoo. What is and isnt spam. If it is, can I delete it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cptimes (talk • contribs) 01:25, February 18, 2007 (UTC)

Yup, I did. Like I staed in the histpry, linking to such small groups like that, would be like listing every guild on Neopets, or club on Marapets, etc. Moozipan 20:49, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Moozipan
Clock Tower
Since the clock tower is coming out on 2-23-07, we should make an article on the Clock Tower. Can I Make One? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cptimes (talk • contribs) 11:16, February 22, 2007 (UTC)
- Please sign your posts on talk pages by typing ~~~~ (four tildes). Sure you can make one. Do a test first at this page. Crazy 29 19:54, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- It would be better to have one article on locations in Club Penguin than multiple stubs that can't be expanded. Squids_and_Chips 01:12, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
I agree. I think that there should be an article completely devoted to the different rooms, secret rooms, and such places like "the wilderness", Explaining the minigames, what the room is used for, and a bit about the room's history. I also think that an article completely devoted to the 'minigames' of club penguin would also be satisfactory. --Coin945 12:53, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
I will put an internal link on the article titled Club Penguin/Locations. (without the period) I will need help getting started but we can do test first at this page. Crazy 29 21:20, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Rewrite
In lieu of deleting half of the article (which would be rather reckless) and in lieu of adding multiple cleanup tags, I have added a rewrite tag. This mostly covers WP:NOT and WP:CVG/GL
- While generally not a problem, the Events section often predicts future events not notable outside of Club Penguin almost in the form of proseline.
- The Items section is basically proseline. I'm not even sure the section is necessary.
- Tour guides, Penguin Times, and Puffles aren't much of a problem.
- Secret Agents, Minigames, and Rockhopper: See CVG guideline
Additionally, the article needs an expanded section on its critical reception, although I could not find any or many useful third-party sources. Squids'and'Chips 00:03, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- I agree -- there is some great, formally written content in this article (i.e. the lead section), but some content such as the upcoming events that are listed, etc. are not so good. I have found that some content relating to Club Penguin has been simply copied from the website (e.g. the [[3]] section on the Puffle article (I have since removed it)), etc. Any thoughts? --Jatkins 20:07, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Question
how make a fotograph of club penguin? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ratónbat (talk • contribs) 23:15, 17 March 2007 (UTC).
- [Y]ou can press "Print Screen"" on the keyboard and go to paint and press copy. Crop the photo if you wish and then save it to "My Pictures". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.185.161.179 (talk • contribs) 11:36, March 18, 2007 (UTC)
- Wikipedia's images article should answer your question(s). --Adavidb 06:35, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, basically, at least if your using Windows. As the other guy said, press the Print Screen (or Prt Scr or Print) button on your keyboard, and then open up Paint which is in Accessories on the Programs part of the Start Menu. Then press Paste on the Edit Menu. --Jatkins 15:30, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Secret Agent shortened
How come the sections in the secret agent area under Gary the Gadget Guy and the HQ were deleted?--138.217.252.105 10:03, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- Portions of it were removed in some unexplained blankings. I have reverted it and the list of mods, part of which appeared to be self-promotion. Squids'and'Chips 00:10, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
Do you think that maybe a mod could have deleted it off the artical? Dragonrider27 01:58, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

- There is an NHI wikilink within the info box to the right at the top of the article. The NHI article includes the link you listed.--Adavidb 21:41, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Club Penguin has now joined Disney. Club Penguin Wanted it around the world but they couldn't do it alone so they joined Disney.
New article
Though the first attempt at Club Penguin Locations was a failure, since it is such an important aspect of Club Penguin, maybe someone could try to make a better one than i did. I have made a link at the bottom of Club Penguin to it along with a few others which i feel are also important. These are just my suggestions so we should discuss the pros and cons of each before we make the articles.--Coin945 07:46, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps try starting it on a user subpage first to work out the problems before moving it into mainspace. That way you can discuss the pros and cons on the subpage's talk page and write out the article at the same time. Squids'and'Chips 15:06, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
New link proposal
I think that adding the link to the Oficcial Club Penguin Wikia should be added on the club penguin article. Club Penguin Wikia TurtleShroom 15:15, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- I think this link should be added too, it is now an older and bigger wiki and it is a very good source of information for Club Penguin. Robbsi 13:41, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- The 'official' status of this other Wiki page is questionable. --Adavidb 14:37, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
- I added it once before as Club Penguin Wiki but it got deleted but now, as TurtleShroom stated, i think it should be added back.--Coin945 09:28, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Newspapers in Boiler Room
The articles in the Club Penguin section of Wikipedia give contradictory information. Are there the latest 6 or 8 newspapers in the Boiler Room?--Coin945 09:36, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
- There are six newspapers in the folder in the Boiler Room; I updated the Penguin Times article accordingly.--Adavidb 12:38, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Rockhopper
It says under rockhopper that he is a fictional character. he is not. he is a real penguin, i saw him at the pirate party. please fix that. Jokdt 16:57, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- On subject, umm, rockhopper is fictional, meaning he isn't real. In fact, all penguins, players, you, or Aunt Arctic etc. are fictional, and do not exist in real life. Saying he is fictional would be correct. However, there is a species of penguins called Rockhopper Penguins. 68.5.28.194 22:27, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Rockhopper is a real penguin unlike Aunt Arctic who is just fictional. But you can see rockhopper when his ship is docked at the beach. He is can only be on one server at a time. He is not fictional! Dragonrider27 01:41, 10 July 2007 (UTC) Yes thats true he is not real but he is real in club penguin thats all.
just because you can meet him, dosnt mean he is a real penguin, most of the time he is controled by a computer program, and just says the same thing loads of times kinda boring realy, but he is fictonal, like every other penguin on clubpenguin, remember there just pixels not real living things, exept the people controling them of corause--62.30.81.125 (talk) 20:17, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Famous Penguins
I Think We Should Make A Section Of Famous Penguins Like Paintboy100, Antras, Waddle7890, soccerroxy18, Acombie dude, imcaveman, adidas dude20,pengino127,Listy Misty(whos very famous) and Pink Mafias —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.166.114.135 (talk • contribs) 15:15, June 5 2007 (UTC)
- Unless information can be verified by reliable, third-party published sources, it should not be included. So until we see an interview with Paintboy100 in the New York Times or Newsweek, best to leave such trivia out. -- Satori Son 22:35, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- It seems this was added nonetheless. While I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm, such information is not appropriate for an encyclopedia. Please read WP:VERIFY and WP:NOT. I have removed the section from the article. -- Satori Son 16:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

- That source does not verify your assertion. And we cannot use original research. But that is a great source for the article, just not for a section on "Famous penguins". -- Satori Son 04:28, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
What about the mysterious Attacker309 and was said to have 'killed' penguins? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.227.66.107 (talk • contribs) 16:38, 27 June 2007 (UTC).
- Find a reliable source about any fame of such a player/penguin and it may warrant inclusion in the encyclopedia article with a citation. Otherwise, it might be interesting to some, but doesn't belong here. —Adavidb 02:43, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have personally never seen this penguin for myself when I was on Club Penguin. In addition, the gift shop does not sell weapons of any kind, nor can a snowball afflict any harm to a penguin. (It can't even break a window.) In addition, there is no way a penguin can "punch" another penguin. Are you making this up? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.234.211.213 (talk • contribs) 18:44, July 24, 2007 (UTC)
Really all that the so called famous penguins such as Chewitt Dude and Paintboy100 are famous for is making really cool websites/blogs. I don't think that there should be an artical about famous penguins Dragonrider27 01:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Yellow Puffle
In the section on puffles, it mentions a 'Yellow puffle'. This is not actually official, and is only a hack. Should it really be mentioned? Sir hat-a-lot 13:09, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I also question whether the yellow puffle references should remain, though primarily because there's no citation about the supposed 'cheat program' and its ability to generate a yellow puffle. To the extent that yellow puffles are verifiable and reliably documented, their mention may be appropriate. —Adavidb 02:53, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, since no one responded or provided citations for yellow or other unofficial puffle colors, they're being removed from the article. —Adavidb 01:09, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I'v seen this utube vidio or something like that about how do get a yellow puffle but it must have been some really good hacker because I tried what the vidio told me to do and it didn't wonk at all. =( —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.234.211.213 (talk • contribs) 01:53, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Another fansite link
I'd like to propose another link to fansites - ClubPenguin.PL or Forum.ClubPenguin.PL it is a polsih fansite that isnt any less active than the miniclip forums. It has 4500 users and growing fast, and is deffinetaly the largest polish CP fanbase, with its own wiki and translation of the Penguin Times. It even got congratulations from New Horizon Interactive for all the effort and stuff. Check it out yourself. I think it's worth adding. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.210.147.91 (talk • contribs) 13:23, August 16, 2007 (UTC)
- But since Wikipedia is not a repository of links, we need to keep our list of external links restricted to only the very most relevant and high-quality. Since these are Polish-language sites, they are not really appropriate for the English-language Wikipedia. But you may want to suggest it to the editors at Wolna encyklopedia, which does have its own Club Penguin article. Thanks, Satori Son 16:05, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Rockhopper LogIn
When a peson tries to log in as Rockhopper when he is on, an orange box will say "Incorrect Password", not "Banned Forever". Is this worth mentioning? --Roxy 18:48, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- Of what benefit could or would this information be to Wikipedia readers, and is it verifiable? —Adavidb 00:32, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Anyway, just to get your question answered, It says wrong password because you used the wrong password. But if you used the right password wich I used to know but forgot, It would say banned forever unless you tryed logging on at the right time wich would be when he is on club penguin. If you want to find his password try googling it. Dragonrider27 23:50, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, Dragonrider27, Roxy is right, rockhopper is on when it says incorrect password and off when it says banned. You can even try it if you want. Wii2-13 22:24, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- They put that there for a point, to stop people trying to hack him. He isn't really banned, it just says that if you don't get the right password. really.-- Barkjon 16:37, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

- Such article splitting is generally used "when there is enough text in a given subtopic to merit its own entry", based on a summary style page. I question whether such a need exists, also considering "not a game guide" policy. —Adavidb 11:54, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
Club Penguin Wikis
I have made a short list of some of the CP wikis i could find. Are any of these suitable for external links? [5], [6], [7], [8], [9] - Spanish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Coin945 (talk • contribs) 09:28, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
- Based on Wikipedia external link policy, I don't believe these pages are suitable for linking here. —Adavidb 11:09, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
External Link
Here's a good CP Fansite listing... it would be good to expand on the list that's there. http://www.clubpenguinbase.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dharsant (talk • contribs) 00:29, August 28, 2007 (UTC)
Ninjas
We should get ready to edit this article as ninjas are coming soon to Club Penguin. Also, we should consider information from http://www.clubpenguinbase.com/club-penguin-pin-guide/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.233.67.140 (talk • contribs) 00:36, September 1, 2007 (UTC)

Paying In Club Penguin
I'm a member of cp and I'm in the free one. I have a question for Club Penguin: Why would you want to pay for Club Penguin? Like, why would you want to pay just for a game? The only games that should have payment are very popular MMORPGs like World of Warcraft or Everquest or any MMORPGs similar to these games. Roxy2k7 (talk) 02:04, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
this is because club penguin wants to stay ad free for safty there is no other way they can make money —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cpwiz101 (talk • contribs) 19:46, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
