State for the People

edit

Hi, @70P53D. I've seen you removed State for the People since that party on paper doesn't exist anymore. It may not exist as a party listed on party registry, but neither does Freedom Square or Ahali, Lelo, and UNM anymore. State for the People still continues to exist in some ways as a political organization and parliamentary group. Since we are dealing with so many informalities in this election cycle I think it is unwise to remove SftP like this. If we follow this logic Ahali also doesn't exist and we'll have to remove it as well and FS has never existed. Zlad! (talk) 20:19, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

SftP MPs haven't transferred over to Ahali as well. Zlad! (talk) 20:23, 15 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
SftP seems to have pretty much fully ceased to exist. Nika Machutadze, who used to be the chairman, is no longer part of the party and is now an independent member of parliament. There's no information on who, if anyone, is running or participating in the party now. Their social media has been silent for years, and there has been zero activity or mention of them in the media for a long time.
It looks like they might have just handed everything over to Ahali and shut down for good. 70P53D (talk) 17:34, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The difference between Freedom Square, Ahali, Lelo, UNM, and other unofficial entities compared to SftP is that the former are actively involved in political processes, participate in coalitions, engage with the media, and appear to be active. In contrast, SftP essentially does not exist anymore. The transfer of the party's assets to Ahali proves this fact. 70P53D (talk) 17:41, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
You make good points, but I'm not sure it negates including them as support in the infobox. Also I think yes. I also think there is 1MP who still identifies as StfP in the parliament. Btw, then do you think 3 seats SftP got in the last election should be counted towards CfC? Zlad! (talk) 17:57, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It would be great if you could find a source showing that someone still identifies as part of SftP in parliament; that might change my perspective.
I don’t understand why the last election mandates of SftP, should count as CfC, especially since CfC didn’t even exist at that time. 70P53D (talk) 18:04, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
And also, how can something that doesn’t exist, either formally or informally, support someone? 70P53D (talk) 18:07, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
In a way you could say they supported them so much they gave up their entire party for them lol. But yeah I checked and even in the parliament they have left no one, not even as a faction / group. Zlad! (talk) 21:13, 16 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
