A reference and a few Notable
editI mistakenly wrote the addition for Ohlone, but later realized that they are Miwok. Likely won't add again, except perhaps for some pre-mission notes. --meatclerk 06:39, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Note on importance
editRelative to the Bay Area this article is of high importance, since this is a people who greatly shaped the prehistory of the land. Anlace 21:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Integrating ethnogeography
editI've added the three ethnogeographic tribes described by C. Hart Merriam, but there is a helluva lot about the Coast Miwok that is pretty deeply buried in his research and later research by historians with the National Parks Service. More research, as well as a proof-check by any Coast Miwok Wikipedians, would be of great use. One aspect that is absolutely missing is autonyms: What is "Coast Miwok" in the Coast Miwok language? What is the name of the Coast Miwok language in Coast Miwok? Merriam lumped the three tribes into Hookooeko, but that seems erroneous given that the three tribes had their own names for one another and not a unified name.
