Thank you. This has been bothering me since I found this page but I kept forgetting about it. Not only is it outside the range of the bird, it's a bad representation of a native habitat. All of the red groundcover vegetation is actually an invasive iceplant (Carpobrotus sp.). The image you suggested is a little better but it's dominated by another highly invasive species, fountain grass (Cenchrus setaceus). I'm not 100% sure but that might be a little closer to chaparral than coastal sage scrub. Apparently it's a fairly loosely-defined type of vegetation. I'll comb through the Wikimedia search results in a bit and if I don't find anything that fits I can go through my old photos. –Spifferella 23:27, 24 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
