Sceptre or mace

edit

The sceptre resembles more of a mace. -- Obradović Goran (talk 00:38, 13 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

I agree, the so-called "sceptre" is in fact Michael the Brave's mace, and the depicted sword is Stephen the Great's. The 1st Article of the Law 102/21.09.1992 (The Coat of Arms and the Seal of Romania Law) clearly states: "[...]Scutul mare, pe albastru, are o acvilă de aur cu capul spre dreapta, cu ciocul şi ghearele roşii, cu aripile deschise, ţinînd în cioc o cruce ortodoxă de aur, în gheara dreaptă o sabie, iar în gheara stîngă un buzdugan.[...]" ("The big shield, against a blue background, shows a right-headed golden eagle, with red beak and claws, open wings, holding in its beak an Orthodox golden cross, in its right claw a sword and its left claw a mace.") edit

Where is the picture of the coat of arms in this article? I am unable to see it! 89.137.36.86 20:38, 4 February 2007 (UTC) (ES Vic)Reply
