Kazan, Astrakhan and Siberia and Tsardoms not Khanats. The only khanats in Russian Empire were those of Chiva and Bukhara (vassals of the crown). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.165.173.131 (talk) 00:54, 3 August 2013 (UTC) As well Poland in Russian Empire had the status of Tsardom not Kingdom. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.165.173.131 (talk) 00:59, 3 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

For editors: note that the history of two-headed eagle has several versions (Europe-Asia is just on of them and not official). Besides, Saint George is the patron saint of Moscow, that is why he there on the coat of arms. / maqs

Merger proposal

edit

The articles on the coat of arms are generally rather short, so there should be no reason that one page could not discuss each of them on this one page. Also, it would be simpler for a reader to go to one page and see each and every historical period's emblems and arms. I know some may say clicking is not that difficult, but not all of the arms pages link to one another; if editors are unaware of the other articles, then surely readers are. One comprehensive article would also allow editors to better write a better article, rather than splitting their time and efforts amongst the various pages, and then negate the need to add duplicate information to each article to back-story time and again.   Agree. This sounds completely reasonable, and would be consistent with other coat of arms articles. You should be bold and merge them. Vanjagenije (talk) 13:15, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

"Emblem of the Russian SFSR"

edit

Shouldn't it be a coat of arms and not an emblem? It follows the traditional rules of heraldry (unlike the emblem of the USSR proper, for example). It is also called a coat of arms (gerb) in Russian, albeit so is the aforemented Soviet emblem. 95.140.92.87 (talk) 19:59, 28 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Changing to correct coat of arms

edit

Hello on this site I have seen that the coat of arms you provided throughout the Russian Empire and Tsardom aren't all correct like the so called coat of arms that you provided for 1802 is really the lesser coat of arms from 1883-1917

and also the source that Ive gotten this information from has been deleted but I hope we can all work something out. CTGonYT (talk) 19:52, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@CTGonYT Does the source still exist at https://archive.org/? I am afraid we require published reliable sources for all information. If you cannot find the source, you must not add the information. That is a fundamental policy on Wikipedia. We cannot just take your word for it. Qcne (talk) 22:32, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
it dosent exist on a archive page but I swear my coat of arms that I want to provide are all correct and not made up. CTGonYT (talk) 23:49, 15 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CTGonYT: I've reverted back to the version before you changed the images. If you can't provide a reliable source from the internet, go to the library and get a book on Russian coats of arms, and then give us a page number. We can't just take your word that the versions you're uploading are correct. voorts (talk/contributions) 00:52, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
okay then ill try to provide evidence so the real information is put on the page CTGonYT (talk) 23:01, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CTGonYT You must provide evidence from reliable sources. The coat of arms will not be accepted otherwise. Qcne (talk) 23:03, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
alright ill gather up my evidence and finally be able to maybe give out correct information CTGonYT (talk) 23:06, 16 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Comment: There are currently no citations for the current images. voorts (talk/contributions) 02:09, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
okay so first of all in 1856-1883 the Russian imperial coat of arms was different from the one used from 1825-1856 since its the one displayed here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_russia_1856-1883.png the next thing is that the one you all display as the "1802" coat of arms is really the coat of arms used from 1883-1917 as Alexander III made the change during his reign and the real 1801-1825 coat of arms is https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_Arms_of_the_Russian_Empire_1730.png also the one that you guys used during peter the firsts reign wasn't the correct one as the one I will provide that I uploaded is the correct one from the time https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_arms_of_russia_1710s-1730.png the next correction is that Nicholas I did a coat of arms redesign during the same year he changed it with the correct coat of arms listed here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Coat_of_Arms_of_the_Russian_Empire_1828.png this is the end of the conversation for now but I would like to see if you all could edit the correct coat of arms into the wiki or let me just create a separate wiki where I can give out the correct timeline of coat of arms CTGonYT (talk) 04:18, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CTGonYT: The two images you uploaded were not available under a Creative Commons license. I have nominated them for deletion at Commons. Additionally, as both myself and Qcne have stated, you must verify your claims with reliable sources. voorts (talk/contributions) 04:36, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
im done im deleting all of the so called "Historical coat of arms" and adding a google doc link with files to the correct ones CTGonYT (talk) 22:48, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
you really cant take shit can you? also keep the edit where I last stated since I dont want to see these made up coat of arms anymore CTGonYT (talk) 23:00, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Voorts I think this is getting into ANI-territory. Qcne (talk) 08:22, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
well let me just edit them to the correct timeline then okay? CTGonYT (talk) 12:15, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've undone your latest edit which was pure vandalism. Further edits may lead to your account being blocked. Qcne (talk) 13:03, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CTGonYT: Wikipedia editors are expected to comply with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. As both @Qcne and I have pointed out to you, you must support your edits with reliable sources. You might be right about the coats of arms being incorrect, but we can't just take your word for it; otherwise, anybody could add any old random claim to a Wikipedia article and say "trust me, bro". If you continue down this path, Qcne has indicated he will take this to the administrator's noticeboard for incidents. Once that happens, it is likely you will be blocked from editing. I urge you to heed our advice before this escalates. voorts (talk/contributions) 14:05, 28 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
lol bro really dosent want to comply with people CTGonYT (talk) 04:22, 1 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what you mean, but Wikipedia is a collaborative project. You have to work with other people. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:56, 1 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I guess you all dont really want correct information posted well I guess I will get some evidence to defend myself CTGonYT (talk) 04:37, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@CTGonYT yes, please do get evidence. That is literally all we'e been asking.
