The article said: "It was believed that it came to Basel during Council of Florence in 1431 as a present from the Byzantine caesar Constantine XI."
It might well have been a present from a Byzantine emperor, but what was his number, and can this be shown from a source?
Constantine XI does not seem to have been the ruling emperor at that time.
Since this is not supported by the footnote, I'll adapt the text to be in agreement with the footnote: Caspar René Gregory, Textkritik des Neuen Testaments, J. C. Hinrichs’sche Buchhandlung, Leipzig, 1900, p. 48.
