Compsognathidae
editI doln't have the paper in which Rauhut places Compsognathus, Mirischia, and Coelurus in the same family--however, there are a few issues. Very few paleontologists have adopted this usage of coeluridae, and I bet I know why. The name Compsognathidae predates the name Coeluridae! Any family that contains Compsognathus must be named Compsognathidae. Sereno discusses this on the TaxonSearch entry for Compsognathidae [1]. The whole coelurid thing is a mess, and I'm going to go ahead and re-structure, with a separate page for Compsognathidae, which is pretty well supported compard to Coeluridae. Any discussion of this stuff can go here, I guess.Dinoguy2 23:15, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Coeluridae
editUpdate the writing for Coeluridae. The family Coeluridae includes only two genera, Coelurus and Tanycolagreus. The two genera have a number of characters that provide support for a monophyletic Coeluridae.
Aren't coelurids tyrannosauroids?

- They've fallen out in that position is one or two analyses (actually I'm not sure if these were published or just posted online) but the idea hasn't yet gained wide acceptance or been really highlighted in the literature. Dinoguy2 (talk) 16:50, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
Nope, it's not! Ornitholestes have sickle claws, Ornitholestes are Coeluridae, Coeluridae are Dromaeosauroidea, but Coeluridae it's not related to Tyrannosaurs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChrisTheWhaleKing (talk • contribs) 19:16, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
