Proposed merge of Basic interpersonal communicative skills into Cognitive academic language proficiency
editThe concept of Basic interpersonal communicative skills was developed only to be a counterpart for contrast with Cognitive academic language proficiency. I have found no sources which discuss this concept in depth without merely treating it as an introduction to the main topic of CALP. In fact, the Basic interpersonal communicative skills Wikipedia article currently discusses mostly CALP and not its purported subject. (Furthermore, merely my opinion: It was never conceptually refined enough to be useful in its own right for scholars working in language acquisition or language proficiency.)
