ALT1: ... that Coleraine Cricket Club once won the North West Cricket Union Premiership by default after some of their nearest competitor's team were on holiday? Source: Londonderry Sentinel
Overall: Most sources are independent of the subject, and the few that aren't are fairly neutral. Interesting hook and simple and well-written history. I'm a fairly new reviewer so I may need a second opinion but I think its good to go. heyitsben!!talk19:44, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I came by to promote this very appealing hook, but the source doesn't say that being on holiday was the reason they didn't field a team. It says that 3 players were going on holiday on Sunday but would have been available to play on Saturday. It doesn't seem the team gave a reason for their decision. Thank you. I restored the thread and numbered your new hook ALT1. It still doesn't sound right to me. According to the source, there was no explanation given for why the competitors refused to field a team. Yoninah (talk) 23:03, 11 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
You know, I keep looking at the source and trying to figure out what it's implying. I think we should go back to your original hook, which is a summation of the way I reworded the sentence in the article: This occurred after Brigade Cricket Club declined to play the championship playoff match being held at Eglinton Cricket Club, Londonderry, on the grounds that their players would be on holiday, giving Coleraine the title by default. I think this is an accurate summation of the source. Restoring tick for original hook. Yoninah (talk) 19:46, 14 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
