Paedophilia?

edit

Probably needs a more reliable source before inclusion in the article, but Australian documentary maker Kerry Negara seems to have accused him of paedophilia, according to this synopsis:

"With a focus on the Australian artist Donald Friend who lived for many years on the Indonesian Island of Bali, the caustically titled, A Loving Friend reveals a circle of feted Western artist pedophiles who have operated in vulnerable communities across Asia and Australia since the 1930's. While 'ordinary' pedophiles are despised, many artist pedophiles are excused and continue to enjoy success and critical acclaim. Western artists resident in Asia such as; the Australian Donald Friend, German Walter Spies and Canadian Colin McPhee [emphasis mine], successfully groomed and seduced not only the communities they exploited but also the arts establishment who have bought into the romanticised versions of their lifestyles.

I don't have access to this documentary myself, but students or teachers can apparently access it through Kanopy Streaming. See also this transcript of an interview with Negara. -- Meticulo (talk) 06:53, 28 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
