Groups to add Ohio State

edit

Ohio State University has potential candidates to add to the article.[1] Mortar Board,[2] Chimes,[3] Romophos,[4] Mirrors,[5] Bucket and Dipper,[6] Sphinx,[7] Scarlet Order,[8] and the Rutherford B. Hayes Society.[9] User:164.107.180.51 14 May 2024

Only the last two are secret societies. The rest are honor societies which have a different article.Rublamb (talk) 19:34, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I added the last 2 to this article and the other seven to Honor society Rublamb (talk) 21:02, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Difference between secret society and honor society

edit

Because there has been some confusion between secret and honor societies (above):

  • Secret society: members are not known, activities are not not known, membership selection process unknown
  • Honor society: membership list is public, mission and activities are not secret, membership rewards (honors) scholarship, leadership, and/or activities, can be general or subject specific.
