editI am concerned that the list of names and dates may be incorrect. In Lewis Carroll in Numberland (Norton, 2008), Robin Wilson says that in 1852, Skeffington Lutwidge was Commissioner of Lunacy. Could there have been more than one Commissioner at a time, or were there different levels of hierarchy within the Commission, with multiple tiers of authority bearing some version of the title Commissioner of Lunacy; or is one of the two claims (Wilson or Wikipedia) to the fact about 1852 incorrect?
