Limited Scope of Commissioning

edit
This article only addresses New-Construction Building Commissioning (a good list of the types of commissioning is http://eetd.lbl.gov/emills/pubs/pdf/MBCx-LBNL.pdf on page 8).

Should a separate page be created for each of the types of commissioning?

This should not go under NEW CONSTRUCTION Projects, Rather just Building Construction Projects, as there are many types of construction projects that are not the scope and focus of defining the "Building Commissioning" Proces. Rather the types such as: Existing Expansion Renovated New

ect. should be listed on the bottom half of the page as a sub-context that links to "Retro-Commissioning" or Re-Commissioning for existing retrofits or New buildings that did not originally have Commissioning in their contract, but now are requesting commissioning for the 1st time since the occupancy of the new building began.

Email me at jdanderton@verizon.net for a more detailed discussion. I have over 20 years experience in Commissioning and Engineering. I would be happy to ensure the validity of any information posted regarding Building Commissioning or Project Commissioning. You may also visit my website at www.independentcxconsulting.com

I have been a commissioning agent for over 3 years in Portland, OR. There is a lot of information out there on commissioning agents and what we provide to a project. It is very important that factual information on what we provide to a project is used and not the dollar amounts of money saved because of how clouded that information can get, especially for LEED projects. Commissioning agents focus on a project is to provide a better product to the owner and tenants by working with the design team and all contractors in a productive environment. While we can improve a projects yearly energy usage it is usually a byproduct of our focus on making a building operate as it was intended and improving the occupant's environment.

ASHRAE Guideline 0-2005

edit

ASHRAE, the American Society of Heating, Refigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers published a key document outlining and prescribing the Building Commissioning Process. It is Guideline 0-2005. It should be referenced and discussed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mwlackey (talkcontribs) 04:08, 30 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
