Other futures
There should be some mention here of the major futures traded without CFTC supervision, and why this is so. 26 May 2008
merge
This article should deffo be merged into that other one 78.86.230.145 (talk) 00:02, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
- I oppose any merger with List of Commissioners of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The current commissioners should be listed in this article for the convenience of readers. Present and past commissioners can be listed in the separate list, but right now the current commissioners do not seem to be in that list. The CFTC is an agency in the news, and the nomination of Gensler is pending in the US Senate. --DThomsen8 (talk) 17:15, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- Since there have been no further comments, can the merger proposal be considered dead?--DThomsen8 (talk) 03:34, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- Support merge. The List of Commissioners is a small article that can easily be incorporated here. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 15:51, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- Done. if the list is out of date, update it. Totnesmartin (talk) 16:30, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
Commissioners of the CFTC
Here is the list of commissioners that I added to the article. Gensler is not yet confirmed by the US Senate, where six Democratic senators have placed a hold on his nomination. Michael Dunn is not the actor of the same name, so there are no link brackets for him, and the other three are not in Wikipedia.
The five commissioners as of June 19, 2009, are:
- Gary Gensler, Chairman
- Michael Dunn
- Walter Lukken
- Jill E. Sommers
- Bart Chilton
Someone should follow the CFTC official website link and get the biographies there. --DThomsen8 (talk) 17:05, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
- * Scott D. O'Malia is now a Commissioner. Gensler has been confirmed and sworn in. --DThomsen8 (talk) 03:32, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Neutrality
This article violate wikipedia neutrality standards by taking a position on SEC/CFTC merger issues. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.150.77.247 (talk) 06:35, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
