Loss of info by joining

edit

Someone has joined up several articles and cut away info from rrealted traditions, but nevertheless of different histories. FOR example Talkoot has come into many languages and cultures and that has disappeared. Also there were some examples of existing ones and they are gone too! There is not history here of this:

So these refs are now missing: http://www.talkoot.suomipuhtaaksi.fi/en AND http://affinitiesjournal.org/index.php/affinities/article/view/51/140

Perhaps this info can be PUT BACK INTO THE article — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.191.178.119 (talk) 16:50, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

I believe I migrated all the content and preserved the refs except for ones that did not work. Please add content if you feel I have missed anything. Jamesx12345 (talk) 19:43, 31 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Mutirão" in Brazil

edit

http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mutirão It's the Tupi-word and tradition among Brazilien native people. The word is still very commun in daily language. Suggestion for someone who knows Brazil and can write better English than me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.118.251.139 (talk) 00:09, 12 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Subbotnik

edit

Should Subbotnik be mentioned in this article as well? It is very common amongst Russion and former Soviet states and for example in the former East Germany.

Gorilla

edit

I've added language about Harambe the gorilla under the Harambee sub-section, as both "Harambee" and "Harambe" redirect to the section. Hopefully, this link and its location will allow people looking for information on the gorilla to get to the relevant section without giving undue weight to the incident. Vendemmia

edit

In various parts of what is now italy, vendemmias or grape gathering was traditionally community work involving several villages, unpaid and in return for dances food and drink offered by the vineyard owner. This was then outlawed recently and now it must be done via legal work/payment. I know this through personal experience in the 80s, near Duino, Trieste. 151.95.24.132 (talk) 13:57, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

What do they even mean, "in today's individualistic society"?

edit

What do you think a committee is? Voluntary work? A sports club? Carpooling? The neighbourhood watch?

I feel quite a bit of subjective love for the ancient and disgruntledness for the modern was put into this article. Snorkop (talk) 21:26, 5 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
