General Improvement

edit

I absolutely buy that this article needs expansion, but does anyone have any ideas on what direction it should go in? Yes, the "Societies" "journals" and huge (but nicely comprehensive and useful!) list of "further reading" sources all need to go. But what should everything be replaced with? I'm thinking that the "History" section needs to start a bit like it is, maybe have the Prosser stuff from the next section, go to New Directions (which, by the way, is probably where that "stamp collecting" criticism came from) and have important physiologists mentioned along the way. But that essentially leaves the article with one real section, the section on history. I think I need to go read other biological discipline pages, but I'm not really sure what this article should be about. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Enuja
