Why just these four?
editUseful, thanks! When I google free video converters, without even cracking the results page I see at least four others. Why just these four?
For example, Cnet seems to show hundreds?

Why not to add things that really differ — like, manual tuning codec settings, available filters and operations (crop, auto-crop, resize, resample, deinterlace, colour boost, et cetera)? --31.162.103.27 (talk) 11:10, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
Added Thoera .ogv Ogg to output table
edit
I found the feature listed on their sites and wikipedia articles. Two I added '?' because I couldn't find info on the format.--Canoe1967 (talk) 23:21, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- Excuse me? What exactly did you mean to add? Theora or Ogg? Just for the record, Ogg is container format but Theora is a video compression format and must not be added to the list of container formats. Fleet Command (talk) 00:00, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry. I just thought it should be added because .ogv (the newer accepted name for .ogg?) is one of the few allowed for upload to the commons. I can correct if you wish, or have someone more knowledgable do so?--Canoe1967 (talk) 00:19, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Well, as long as it is correct, I do not have anything to complain, right? So, yes you can add "Ogg" (whose file extensions are .ogg, .ogv, .ogm and a couple of others). I just wanted to make sure you did not go looking for the wrong piece of info. Oh, and sorry for that edit collision. Cheers. Fleet Command (talk) 01:05, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

I added just as 'Ogg' not 'Theora OGV' as I had it before. I also wikilinked container in the input/output tables to the comparision page, that may be easier to follow. I added a 'see also' section to link to two container pages.--Canoe1967 (talk) 05:56, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Good. I complemented your edit with the info that I have and fixed the formatting of the See Also section. Fleet Command (talk) 10:02, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
Trying to have website un-sensored
editsquared5.com was blacklisted. I can't find a reason why, but the instructions to find out why seem very complex to me.
If there is a valid reason for it to be on the list, just remove my request. I wouldn't want admin to waste time reviewing it again.--Canoe1967 (talk) 14:26, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- It is on the whitelist now.--Canoe1967 (talk) 21:52, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Done--Canoe1967 (talk) 19:53, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
What are menu templates?
editI see none of them have the feature. Should we remove it from the table?--Canoe1967 (talk) 17:26, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
Splitting into chapters
editAs far as I can see Freemake cannot split DVD into chapters. This is acknowledged in their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=284932398200080 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 41.162.19.98 (talk) 19:13, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Transcode defunct?
editI'm not 100% certain, but the Transcode project may be defunct. This is a shame, because the utility programs like 'tccat' and 'avimerge' are quite valuable. Some very exciting plugins were developed for Transcode, like 'stabilize': http://public.hronopik.de/vid.stab/features.php?lang=en — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.215.115.31 (talk) 20:45, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
More programs
editI think the following programs should be included too:
- Free AVI Video Converter, a free video conversion program
- MediaCoder - free (nagware)
- Badaboom - a consumer media converter
- ATI Avivo Video Converter - a converter created by ATI with GPU transcoding acceleration
- TMPGEnc - encoding video files to VCD and SVCD-compliant MPEG video formats - freeware/shareware
- Cinema Craft Encoder - video encoder for MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, proprietary
- ProCoder - a commercial video encoding and transcoding program
- TotalCode Studio - video & audio transcoding application - commercial

editThis isn't a converter, as far as I'm aware. There are some 15 or so 'converters' listed in the first table, with only nine converters actually compared in the rest of the article. --98.122.20.56 (talk) 06:25, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
Features list comparison table
editFeatures list comparison table, is overloaded, and should be split to two parts:
1. Essential. 2. Extra.
Some features are major: such as "convert without transcoding" (did they mean encoding?).
Some features are far less important, such as: upload to youtube.
How about CLI? - command line interface? Why isn't it mentioned in the table?
(It is not the same feature as batch convert).
