Merge proposal
editI oppose a merger with Transformer because the article is mainly about motors. Biscuittin (talk) 16:37, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Transformers
editQuote: "A compensation winding is an isolated coil wound into a transformer's primary to effectively create fractional numbers of turns". Is this about tappings on a transformer primary to suit different mains voltages, e.g. 200-220-240? If so, it isn't isolated. Biscuittin (talk) 16:42, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- I have searched for compensation winding and fractional turns related to transformers. I have found plenty of the latter, but none are called compensation windings. Every example of compensation winding involves a rotating machine. The only references I can find involve DC motors. Since there are no references at all, I am going to remove the part about transformers. The Electric Motor part has been copy and pasted form a copyrighted source. I'm going to rewrite that part, with references. Constant314 (talk) 16:18, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
