Diagram & nomenclature issues
editpage is incorrect as is diagram, C2b binds to C4b to create the C3 convertase while the small diffusibl element c2a is the precursor of the C2 kinin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.1.52.223 (talk) 19:44, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
- The nomenclature of the C2 cleavage products is ambiguous. The older nomenclature mentions the larger, C4b binding fragment as C2a whereas the newer nomenclature calls uniformly all smaller complement cleavage product as "a" andt the larger cleavage products as "b".
- The article refers "C4d" in lots of places that should be "C4b" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.98.12.50 (talk) 17:11, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- I fixed the indenting of this current talk section and added a new talk page+section to the diagram on Commons: c:File talk:Complement pathway.svg

SLE
editWhile it's great that somebody finds it interesting that C4 may play a role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia, could we please include something about the mechanism of C4 deficiency and SLE, given that's far more established? I mean, until the link with schizophrenia is established, it does not fall under clinical significance, whereas C4 levels are used in the evaluation of SLE
Confusing
editPage contains too much history and human names in non-history parts. Tone sounds more like presenting findings from each study instead of describing the thing, which very quickly gets hard to read for decades of studies.
"Simple model" in lead is not very simple per Sekar et al. Similarities and differences between C4A/B (literally the first figure of Sekar et al) is not described in the article. --Artoria2e5 🌉 18:02, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
