I imported some of this content from an earlier version of the fully-fashioned knitting page, where the previous author had described all fully-fashioned knitting as 3D. I did my best to preserve his work, while trying to pull apart the two techniques. The last paragraph in this entry (the one that starts with "Note:") is a little confusing. While I do think it is helpful to mention the different knitting options that direct the positioning of the needles, I don't understand what he was meaning to communicate on the whole.
