State capital? Probably not...

edit

I have removed the statement, "Concho was the original site for the state capital" which appears to be completely bogus. Various sources outline the true history of the Arizona state and territorial capitals which are limited to Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, and Fort Whipple in Chino Valley. Perhaps Chino Valley was confused with "Concho Valley". I lived near Concho from the early 60s through the mid 1980s and NEVER heard anything like this. The statement has no source and if it was not put here as a result of confusion with Chino Valley, it was possibly put there as a joke--given how small the community actually is.
