I do not know Italian, but whoever translated the article from Italian to English apparently believes English word order is the same as Italian word order. In addition, some words seem to be incorrectly translated. Nearly half the sentences have lost their meaning. The article is so useless, it ought to deleted and retranslated by someone who (a) knows both languages and (b) is familiar with the history of Venice, and the other Italian city-state republics. If you think that it can be improved (which it obviously can) - then WP:FIXIT. The article was mostly synced over from Google Translate a couple years ago when the series still needed more info from the Italian Wikipedia.
