Congregation Kol Israel is central to the revitalization of Orthodox Jewish life in Prospect Heights and Crown Heights. There is a full schedule of services and classes. Rabbi Ben Keil is currently the Rabbi and serves the shul's daily spiritual and teaching needs. The Rabbi Emeritus is Elkana Schwartz, who has served the community for over fourty years. An active board is responsible for the business needs of the congregation. This devoted team along with a hard working board and members' are spearheading a ten year plan to restore the nearly 100 year old building. Recently the shul opened a center for the arts, The Brooklyn Jewish Art Gallery @ CKI. The congregation is proud of its independence and unique make up.
