Overview article
editThe previous version of this page, being primarily about topological spaces, was moved to connected space. As discussed on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics, I have restarted the page, writing an overview of mathematical usage of the word "connectedness", and similar terms. This is intended to be somewhat lower level than most of Wikipedia's mathematics articles (although I'm not sure how well I have succeeded at this).
Naturally, what I wrote emphasizes what I know. I did not intentionally slight any subfields of mathematics. Experts in other fields that use "connectedness" and similar terminology are highly encouraged to expand this article.
In any case, I would be interested in what people think about this. Is this a good sort of article to have here? Should there be others like it? (Answers to the latter question might be better discussed on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics.)
