Lack of English sources
editYes, I only stubbed this out, but there's a lack of sources in English for this person, who is a notable Romanian.[1] I don't speak Romanian, so I couldn't get much further than a stub with this, but it's a little parochial to delete him on account of a language barrier. -- Kendrick7talk 03:37, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
As a secondary point, deleting this stub would create nearly 50 redlinks in article space, see Special:WhatLinksHere/Constantin_C._Giurescu. -- Kendrick7talk 03:48, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- First of all, the Romanian Wikipedia article seems to be enough to convince me to decline a speedy on it. However, we still need reliable sources, and lots of 'em. Otherwise, redlinks aren't a problem in the modern day Wikipedia. If one speedies with Twinkle, the script removes all the redlinks in one fell swoop. SchuminWeb (Talk) 04:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- The article needs much more than just saying he was a "historian". That's barely more than saying he existed. That was why I nominated for a speedy. English-language sources aren't required by policy. Maybe someone can translate some of the Romanian entry to expand this one? DarkAudit (talk) 13:46, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, well, this is why patrolling WP:MWA is a thankless task and I finally gave up visiting there; 95% of heavily redlinked bio's are horse jockeys and obscure motorcross racers, and when you finally tease out a person of some repute, and stub out a short bio, still nobody is happy. Anyway, I found an old article from the NYT circa 1971 when the man was expected to be a visiting professor at Columbia University. I guess I'll throw that in. -- Kendrick7talk 18:19, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
