Talk:Constitutional references to God

Latest comment: 7 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Scope of article

edit

Is this article intended to address only invocation of God in the preamble to constitutions? If so, the name needs to be changed. If not, the introduction does. jnestorius(talk) 00:42, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

You're right. I don't know whether there are constitutions with references to God in the text only, but to make sure, I've changed the lead sentence to: "Several national constitutions make reference to God, most often in the preamble."  Sandstein  05:50, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rwanda and Latin America

edit

Rwanda no longer uses the 1991 constitution. If anyone has a link to its current constitution, shouldn't we replace the text of the 1991 constitution with that of the current one?

Also, a good deal of Latin American countries mention God in the preambles of their constitutions; unfortunately, many of these are not available online in English. Most if not all of them can be found here, in Spanish. If someone here is fluent in Spanish, could they add these countries to the table in the article? Josh (talk) 01:47, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pakistan

edit

I don't wish to stray too far into the alluring but forbidden pastures of original research, but I've added Pakistan, copying from the Constitution of Pakistan article, which I believe is unique among constitutional preambles in denying sovereignty of the proclaimants.

Broken logic of the phrase

edit

this edit has two issues: (a) broken logic of the overall complex clause (2) the change looks plausible, but unreferenced and hence need verification. Staszek Lem (talk) 02:32, 13 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
