CIS sensors can now produce scans of equal or superior quality. I am changing the article

In my (speciality) line of work I have yet to see a proof for superior quality. And even equal quality can only be achieved by great efforts which obsolete the cost-advantage compared to CCD. So in my line of work CIS is still only used for low-quality low-budget applications. --Pmkpmk 08:38, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article is vague. Does it mean the sensor is mechanically scanned left-right in addition to top-bottom (like an ink-jet printer)? If it is only moved in the vertical direction, is the only difference that the sensor is moved instead of the mirror? This should be explained, if that is so. Also, the title is misleading, as the sensor is no different from that used in any other scanner. It is really a scanner distinction, not a sensor distinction. Also clarify that the sensor is monochrome and switches colored LEDs instead of using multicolor filters over the linear sensor. 69.108.2.81 (talk) 09:29, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
