"Snow bug"
editThis section should be rewritten. The snow effect wasn't wasn't anything to do with changing the value of the refresh register. It happens when you set the interrupt register to point to an interrupt vector table in contended RAM memory (16K-32K on the Spectrum), i.e. load I with values between 0x40 and 0x7F.
