Article combines CCN concept with first CCN implementation
editThis article merges together the concept of “content-centric networking” (CCN) with the implementation of CCN by PARC in the mid-2000’s known as “CCNx”. While the early implementation information and history is useful, CCNx is not the only form of CCN.
Another current example is IPFS, which implements content-centric networking.
I think this article should be rewritten to focus initially on the concept of CCNs, and then with the PARC CCNx included as a major implementation. That way, other pages about other CCN-style networks could point here.
Thoughts? Comments? - Dyork (talk) 12:05, 25 December 2021 (UTC)
- Given that there have been no comments on this in almost a month, I'm going to guess that either people just didn't see my question - or people are perfectly fine with me going ahead with doing something like this and don't feel a need to comment. Unless I hear any other strong objections, sometime in the next week or so I may take a first stab at separating the CCN description from the CCNx implementation. (And anyone else who wants to do that is welcome to go for it!) - Dyork (talk) 19:37, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the attention. Your comment sounds fine to me. My guess is there are very few people working on this kind of article, alas. Those in-line links also should be removed, per style. W Nowicki (talk) 22:15, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
