notable? wikipedia-worthy?

I wikified the article created by 24.141.157.246 since the initiative does have its website. However, it seems very vague and not really serious. This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing myself. Did anyone else come across it, or is it yet another of these local chamber of commerce-powered initiatives? --qviri 22:47, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

The project web site references a lot of news stories and government announcements related to Continental 1, so I'm pretty sure it's a real thing. The page as it was before the redirect was put into place was good insofar as it went, but there has been lots of progress since then in terms of construction completed and underway. The plan is to use existing roads most of the way to Miami from the US-219/I-68 junction in Maryland, and the existing QEW and Peace Bridge form the Canadian end. (For now. MTO is talking about a new corridor through the Niagara Peninsula, with options to connect with the 401 West of Hamilton, the 403 West of Milton or the 407 [maybe all three, eventually], and twinning the Peace Bridge, but it will probably take decades for them to make up their minds and start moving dirt. What's there at the bottom of the 219 page is pretty short, dismissive, and misleading. (Just because the person who wrote that only heard about it 2009 doesn't mean that the promotion efforts haven't been going on for years.) Personally, I'm thinking that a page (category?) for existing and planned trade corridors in North America, with links to the Pan Pacific Highway, CANAXEX corridor, the International Mid-Continent Trade Corridor, and similar projects (existing, under construction, in the planning stages, or still at the wishlist stage) would make it easier for people to find this kind of information.
