Major expansion, people!

edit

is it really all that hard to just hire someone cool and pay him not to become one of them?

Well, since its all about young people (with all the things like parent's social class, the youth's experience with employment and other social issues) fundamentally trying to express some personality/identity, it really shouldn't take more than a psychologist or a teacher (yes, a teacher) to tell a firm how to connect to the methods used by youth to express said identity, whether it be clothing, tastes etc. That way they don't have to hire someone who they are trying to target and can manipulate it without being involved personally. 118.90.101.123 (talk) 00:41, 25 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Verification of refs

edit

Verifing the text from "A Fine Nose for Hype" Research World magazine, September 2006 issue, p.30 is:

Michael Hanni applies an entirely different method.

Operating worldwide since 1998 from an online franchise platform, his Trendguide.com compiles brand ran kings from the votes of a young audience. From that, recommendations can be made. But Hanni is cautious about his company's predictive powers. "When Siemens created a hype around mobile phones that looked and were meant to be worn like jewellery, the product scored in our ranking. Yet the phones flopped. We call it the Darwin principle: only the strong survive. But such things can only be established in

retrospect."

trendguide.com

edit

I've been discussing trendguide.com after I removed it 17 June 2010. This link has been spammed by 62.167.184.172 (talk · contribs), 89.217.43.5 (talk · contribs), 195.112.95.126 (talk · contribs), and 62.167.118.163 (talk · contribs) over a period of four years. I've verified one reference listed above, and am awaiting another.

Given the brief mention in the one verified reference, I'm doubtful that we'll have information to justify its inclusion. --Ronz (talk) 18:02, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
