edit- Oppose Consensus of WP:IPNA is that the tribal governments should have articles separate from the tribes of which they are composed. Coquille Indian Tribe = government entity, Coquille (people) = ethnic group. Besides which, some people of Coquille ancestry belong to a different tribal entity: Confederated Tribes of the Siletz. It is like the difference between the State of Oregon (government entity) and Oregonian (person). Feel free to suggest ways to better show the difference between the two. Both articles admittedly need work. Katr67 (talk) 23:29, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Name origin issue
editThe Rogue River (tribe) article attributes, or implies, the coquille name is not from shell, which seems to be a later adaptation, but from coquin ("rogue", also from French).Skookum1 (talk) 15:51, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
