Personal life

edit

Hey nightscream. I was just trying to clean up that section with what was there before and the citations given. Honestly, it's not much of a personal life. Quick question: is this really notable "Harrison cited as the reason for the divorce their competitive work schedules, though the end of their marriage was an amicable one" for inclusion? and this: "Their son, Richard Benjamin Harrison, was due in October 2018" doesn't sound encyclopedic. When was the son born? If we could track that down, it would read better to simply say: "Their son, Richard Benjamin Harrison, was born ..." As it reads now, he hasn't been born; or something happened for him not to be born. Too vague. Thoughts? Maineartists (talk)

@Maineartists: Notability is the test for whether a subject merits an article, not whether a given piece of information should go into one. IMO, some detail on the reasons for a divorce is perfectly reasonable, and is found all across bio articles on Wikipedia.
Yes, if we can find mention of the son's actual birth, then we can refer to it. But not if the only source if one published before his birth. I don't think the current wording is at all unencyclopedic, but we can fiddle with the wording if you want. Nightscream (talk) 00:57, 6 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
nightscream OK. Sounds good re: detail for divorce. But I do disagree that the content currently stated about the son is dated, vague and unnecessary until a specific date of birth is confirmed. There's no reason to state it otherwise; considering it's four years later. Saying something was "supposed to happen" really isn't WP when it comes to the birth of a child. As I said, it leaves too many questions rather than answers. I'm going to remove it until either a confirmed source can be cited for inclusion. Thanks. nightscream re: your summary. Yes, it is moot. It is 2022. To state: "Their son, Richard Benjamin Harrison, was due in October 2018" is misleading. Choose the word you'd like; it does not belong. The birth does, not the prospect. Simply saying something is: "a specific fact derived from the cited source, and is stated clearly" doesn't warrant inclusion at WP. No mention of Roxy Gonzalez has been included and that was stated in the source. You introduced this new wording / content and the "burden of consensus is on those seeking to include". I am challenging your inclusion. Bring it to the Talk Page. Maineartists (talk) 23:08, 7 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
"To state: 'Their son, Richard Benjamin Harrison, was due in October 2018' is misleading."
No it isn't. Content on Wikipedia is limited by the sources it has. When we do not have a source on the most updated status of something that is in progress, we sometimes have to use phrases like "As of 2019, Soule was based in Brooklyn, New York." The same holds true for a pregnancy that is supported by a source, in a situation where we do not yet have a source for how that pregnancy ended. By claiming that it is "moot", you're making it clear that you dont even know what that word means.
"The birth does, not the prospect."
The birth was not known at the time, so we could not include it. We can include it now because you added those sources.
Simply saying something is: "a specific fact derived from the cited source, and is stated clearly" doesn't warrant inclusion at WP. No mention of Roxy Gonzalez has been included and that was stated in the source.
I have no idea what you're talking about here. I never stated any principle regarding inclusion that resembles this statement you've made above, and I have no idea who Roxy Gonzalez.
Your "challenge", quite ironically, is moot, because your addition of the updated status of the pregnancy means we're no longer limited to reporting merely the pregnancy, but can now relate the birth, meaning further argument no longer has any practical relevance. Take care. Nightscream (talk) 21:50, 8 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Corey Harrison under attack from trolls

edit

There is a small group of trolls coming from 4chan's /b/, who have been trying to say Corey has died for over a year. There is a new attack where these trolls are saying he is in a hospital in Las Vegas, and that he is brain dead due to an "accident". They are also impersonating his father, antagonizing anyone who rejects these "claims".

Every death edit on this article is being made by them. Highly recommend locking this entry, otherwise the trolls will only continue to get more extreme and bizzare in their actions. 104.251.79.9 (talk) 15:13, 10 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
