Eurodog please consider writing a separate article for Randolph Nelson; the information in the long note is neither supported by the reference attached to that line nor attributed to any internal sources.

Maranjosie and Modernist please can you provide reliable, concrete references that West was a notable Abstract Expressionist painter who defined American Abstract Expressionism. That she may have been Gorky’s lover may be valid, but that her major work defined American Abstract Expressionism is questionable. I have not been able to find any reliable references to her even being part of the AAE movement, although she was certainly friends with some of them. The references in her Article (her obit, and the brochures are not what one might describe as reliable references); please can you help me with this? As was in her obit: “West’s work was never really collected by museums etc.” In the WIKIPEDIA article on Abstract Expressionism she is included as a Significant Major artist whose mature work defined American Abstract Expressionism. Would you agree that maybe her name should at least be in the ‘Other artists’ section of the AAE article, as she was not a notable, significant artist whose mature work defined American Abstract Expressionism? Thank you for your help.
