editMy name is Carl Davenport and I had the pleasure and honour of playing for Cork Celtic in seasons from 1967,1968,1969 and 1974,and in seasons1970, 1971 1972 and 11073 with Cork Hibernians
I have wonderful memories of my years in Cork my excellent team mates but most important the people of Cork, many of whom I value as my friends to this day.
I still cannot keep away fom Cork and each year I return to see old pals and we spend the time swathed in nostalga chating about old times and we did seem to have a lot of fun in those days and we have a great time re-living the events and happenings of yesterdays.
I am currently writing "my book" about my eventful life in and out of football and a major part must be memories of the wonderful period of my life spent in Cork.
As the years go by the old bones start to ache, the hair gets thinner, the mind starts to play tricks and one wonders where that vital and super active young man has gone.
Now in my dotage I am placing my memories into print and whilst I recall so many "situations and happenings" there maybe someone out there who has a story to tell and I would welcome any input.
I would also like to take this opportunity to repeat my thanks to those who,a couple of years ago supported my testamonial match with my home town club,Bolton WFC
My very best wishes to the people of Cork and my thanks for your help, assistance and friendship over the years,
Carl Davenport-----THE DAV.

Fair use rationale for Image:CorkCeltic.png
editImage:CorkCeltic.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Merger proposal
editI propose that this article should be merged with Evergreen United F.C., as these were not separate clubs but merely different names used by the same club. I would propose to host the article under Cork Celtic F.C. this was the last name by which the club was known. The articles themselves already state that these were mere name changes, but a reliable secoundary source to support this is Niall MacSweeney, A Record of League of Ireland Football 1921/22-1984/5, published by the Association of Football Statisticians. On page 98, MacSweeney says that "Evergreen United changed their name to Cork Celtic". Mooretwin (talk) 21:42, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
- Merger completed. Mooretwin (talk) 21:31, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
