If you object to deletion, you're free to remove the template from the article, as stated in the description. I'm not especially energized to delete this article; if I had to go either way on whether this guy is notable, I'd guess that he probably is, but the article doesn't seem to explain why, at least to a layperson like myself. It says that he did things but it doesn't say why those things are notable. And, of course, there are no references provided to verify anything in the article except that he published one paper.
